An organ donor for !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has been found! A 2001 Toyota Corolla for $400 that is horrible in every way, except that the engine is mint.
The body is dented & rusted, the interior is disgusting, the brakes are spongy, the tires all have different amounts of wear, and we had to swap the RF for the LR so it could go over 65mph without feeling like the steering wheel was coming off.
The engine however seems great, I pulled the plugs and they don’t show any of the carboning up that indicates oil burning that these are known for.
Plan is to yank the motor, offer it up whole or for parts on craigslist for a week or so, then haul the rest off for scrap.
We got most everything disconnected on the top half of the new motor, yesterday. Today was supposed to be more disconnecting and the actual motor pull, but I seem to have come down with some nasty cold/flu thing, so it is on hold. Fortunately I’m on vacation for the next two weeks, so I should have time to finish it up.

Guy didn’t answer multiple emails, never answered his phone & didn’t have his voicemail set up.
I think I know why it was up for over a month with the price steadily dropping. If you don’t give people any way to contact you, you aren’t going to sell your car.

Body has multiple badly patched rot holes, the interior is nasty & the brakes are a mess. We’d need to put hundreds into it to get it to past MA inspection, let alone make it any good to drive. Then she’d have to pay taxes/reg/inspection on it. The other car is fine except for the blown engine, and is already registered & insured.
